Qcells Home Energy Solutions seeks an Interconnection Specialist to manage and control projects through administrative and specialized expertise with the Home Energy System division. The role involves submitting utility applications, rebate reservations, and SREC/VPP enrollment. Major responsibilities include submitting interconnection applications to utilities to obtain permission to operate (PTO), submitting rebate applications, monitoring a pipeline of projects for submittal, and maintaining updates in the company system with key dates and document uploads.

Responsibilities

Prepare and submit interconnection applications to utility companies for residential solar projects.

Ensure all application documentation complies with utility and jurisdictional requirements.

Track application statuses and follow up to ensure timely approvals.

Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, design, permitting) to gather necessary project details.

Submit rebate and incentive applications to relevant agencies and programs (e.g., state, utility, or municipal).

Monitor and manage deadlines for incentive and rebate programs to ensure timely submissions.

Maintain accurate records of all submitted applications and approvals.

Communicate with customers regarding the status of their applications and expected timelines.

Stay up to date with changes in utility policies and incentive program guidelines.

Resolve issues or discrepancies with utilities or rebate agencies during the application process.

Assist in developing and refining standard operating procedures for application workflows.

Become a subject matter expert on the Qcells Q.Home battery system and Q.volt inverter for residential applications.

Required Qualifications

Experience in the solar industry, energy sector, or a related field (2–3+ years).

Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and rebate/incentive programs (California, Florida, and Texas experience preferred).

Strong understanding of solar PV system components and installation workflows.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in project tracking tools (e.g., Salesforce).

Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as site plans, single-line diagrams, and utility requirements.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines simultaneously.

Basic understanding of permitting processes and utility regulations.

Problem‑solving skills to resolve application issues with utilities or agencies.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and PDF editing tools.

Self‑motivated and capable of working independently or in a team environment.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
