Responsibilities
Assess patients by collecting and documenting data through interview, history, and physical assessment.
Obtain accurate screening data, interpret normal vs. abnormal findings.
Determine nursing diagnoses, monitor and evaluate data frequently based on stability.
Safely perform and document care plan using required nursing procedures consistent with standards of care.
Evaluate effectiveness of interventions, monitor patients for adverse responses and side effects.
Assess patient/family understanding and document information in clinical records.
Create and maintain a healing climate, manage discomfort, and provide emotional support and education.
Teach self‑care and illness prevention to patients and families.
Recognize and communicate ethical and legal issues; complete incident reports.
Attend departmental and hospital committees as assigned; support departmental goals.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Experience:
Two years of recent acute hospital PACU experience required; moderate sedation experience required; critical care experience required.
License/Certification:
Current CA RN license; AHA BLS; required departmental certifications (PALS, NRP, ACLS).
Skills:
Strong communication, attention to detail, problem solving, teamwork, patient education.
Compensation Base pay range: $75.42 – $92.27 per hour. Final salary determined by experience, education, specialty, and training.
