Job Summary Psychologists apply psychological principles, theories, methods, and techniques in the evaluation and treatment of patients with emotional or mental disorders; and perform other related duties as required. This position exists to provide knowledge and expertise in psychology, and in particular to perform clinical interviewing, to perform suicide assessment as indicated, and to attend study team meetings. The role involves providing clinical interviewing and performing differential diagnoses during clinical interviews.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree in clinical psychology; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position

Degree with a specific emphasis on clinical interviewing using protocols and differential diagnosis

Current, valid license in California as a psychologist. Out of state licensed psychologist have 180 days to complete licensure requirements in the State of California.

Knowledge of specific clinical interview protocol: Structured Clinical Interview for the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5)

Knowledge of and experience with conducting clinical interviews with differential diagnosis

Experience with assessing for suicidality

Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 3+ years of directly related experience

Knowledge of specific suicidality assessment protocol: Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS)

Knowledge of the Structured Clinical Interview for Sleep Disorders (SCISD)

Experience assessing eligibility and collecting outcome data in the context of clinical trials

Experience assessing sleep disorders
