Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant - Pain Management to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level I Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island. Opportunity Details
Schedule: Daytime, with flexibility.
Attend ambulatory Pain Practice sessions.
Assess adult and pediatric patients with acute and chronic pain problems.
Perform and document complete histories and physical examinations, ordering of tests, and reviewing results.
Obtain prior authorizations for prescriptions and procedures from insurance companies.
Respond promptly to in-basket messages from patients.
Participate in the management of acute and chronic pain problems identified during patient evaluations. Request appropriate specialty consultations.
Respond to inpatient and outpatient pain consults.
Assist pain management physicians with interventional procedures and coordinate pre-procedure medical care to ensure patients are optimized for planned procedures.
Collect and correlate data for quality improvement initiatives and participate in interdisciplinary Pain Management CQI activities.
