Requirements
Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in enterprise data and analytics, with at least 3–5 years leading Power BI and data modeling initiatives.
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience) in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
Job Responsibilities We are seeking a seasoned Data Architect with deep expertise in Power BI and a passion for AI enablement. This critical role will lead the transformation of raw data into actionable insights, accelerate AI adoption, and support data-driven decision-making across our business.
As a key member of the Business Intelligence & Analytics Team, the Data Architect will own the design, development, and governance of our Power BI environment. In addition to hands‑on Power BI development, this individual will architect scalable, enterprise‑grade reporting solutions, establish best practices, and lead a small team of BI developers and data analysts. The role involves close collaboration with cross‑functional teams including IT, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Operations to deliver impactful dashboards and analytical tools that drive growth, operational efficiency, and commercial performance.
Success in this role requires strong proficiency in enterprise data warehousing, along with expert-level knowledge of data modeling, data integration, visualization, best practices, and cloud‑based storage solutions.
Primary Accountabilities (35% Plan, 30% Build, 35% Run)
Application Management:
Lead the development and optimization of enterprise‑grade Power BI solutions.
Partner with business leadership and Business Systems Analysts to define analytical needs and ensure the Power BI application strategy supports organizational goals.
Oversee the health and performance of the Power BI platform, meeting SLAs and user expectations.
Serve as a subject matter expert in Power BI and Microsoft AI capabilities, managing vendor relationships, training users, and enabling analytics adoption.
Continuously evaluate emerging trends to identify innovation opportunities.
Proactively manage risks related to platform operations, developing data governance and support protocols.
Ensure system uptime, data accuracy, and availability meet agreed business service levels.
Data Modeling:
Translate business requirements into technical data architecture and visualization solutions.
Champion adoption of advanced analytics and AI‑driven features such as Power BI Copilot, Smart Narratives, and Azure OpenAI.
Facilitate alignment by engaging experts to evaluate and prioritize reporting and AI use cases.
Lead reporting and analytics initiatives from ideation to post‑implementation optimization.
Design repeatable frameworks for KPI measurement, performance monitoring, and business self‑service analytics.
Provide comprehensive documentation, governance artifacts, and training materials.
Technology and Operational Support
Partner with IT, Data Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to deliver secure and performant Power BI solutions and underlying data pipelines.
Provide subject matter expertise in data modeling, ETL architecture, semantic layer design, and analytics lifecycle best practices.
Participate in selection, evaluation, and renewal of BI and AI technology partnerships.
Offer ad hoc support and ensure tickets are resolved per SLAs.
Monitor and improve operational KPIs for reporting uptime, issue resolution, and data pipeline performance.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proven experience designing enterprise reporting solutions using Power BI.
Demonstrated success working cross‑functionally with stakeholders to deliver strategic analytics solutions.
Strategic Thinking:
Develop and articulate a vision for enterprise analytics and AI adoption.
Accountability:
Own deliverables related to reporting architecture, AI enablement, data governance, and platform stability.
Performance Leadership:
Coach and mentor a team of analysts and developers.
Navigating Ambiguity:
Excel in fast‑paced environments.
Power BI Expertise:
Deep proficiency in development, DAX, Power Query, visualization best practices, and dataset governance.
AI and Advanced Analytics:
Hands‑on experience enabling AI features within Power BI and exposure to Azure OpenAI.
Data Integration & Modeling:
Strong understanding of Azure Data Lake Gen2, Synapse Analytics, and complex domains.
Governance & Enablement:
Experience implementing data governance, RLS, self‑service frameworks, and training programs.
Project & Portfolio Management:
Skilled in managing reporting and AI projects using Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Strong collaboration skills with functional leaders and end users.
Certifications (Preferred):
Microsoft Certified: Azure Enterprise Data Analyst Associate (DP‑500, retired) or Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP‑600), CSPO, PMP, ACP, ITIL v4 Foundation.
