Base pay range $68.00/hr - $78.00/hr
Responsibilities
Execute Linux Fleet Standardization: Build consistent, secure, and scalable server configurations across all environments
Implement Security & Patch Controls: Own vulnerability management, patching processes, and enforcement of security best practices using tools like Tanium, Tenable, and StatLite
Drive Automation: Automate provisioning, patching, and system updates using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Bash scripting
Support Hybrid Infrastructure: Operate in both on-prem and Azure environments
Work Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams while also mentoring and supporting junior Linux administrators
Build Documentation: Create and maintain detailed process and configuration documentation to support long-term sustainability
Requirements
Enterprise Linux Experience: 7-10+ years managing 50+ Linux servers in production (Red Hat, Ubuntu, or similar), preferably in enterprise environments
Hands‑On Execution: Proven track record of executing infrastructure improvements, not just designing them
Automation Proficiency: Deep experience with Terraform, Ansible, and custom scripting (Bash required; Python is a plus)
Cloud Exposure: Required experience managing Linux in cloud environments. Azure preferred, AWS considered
Security & Patching: Strong understanding of Linux system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and patch management tools
Self‑Starter Mentality: Must be able to work independently, identify gaps, take initiative, and drive improvements with minimal supervision
Collaboration Skills: Comfortable mentoring junior staff and working across teams to align with broader infrastructure goals
Preferred
Experience building knowledge base articles and internal documentation
Familiarity with Oracle on Linux, clustered environments, and integration with Exadata in cloud or hybrid setups
Knowledge of Active Directory integration for Linux systems
Vision for long‑term Linux infrastructure improvement, though initial focus is entirely on hands‑on execution

The pay range above represents the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion until paid and may be modified at Kforce's discretion consistent with the law.
