Senior Software Engineer
to join our Datacom team in Plano, Texas. The Datacom product is a high‑performance relational database management system for IBM z Systems, used by large mission‑critical workloads.

What You’ll Do
Research and develop innovative solutions that shape the future direction of Broadcom.
Work within a scrum team in an agile development environment, gaining exposure to key agile roles.
Design and code functionality for enterprise‑level products that meet functional and business requirements.
Participate in design and code reviews with other engineers.
Participate in test plan reviews and develop automated test scripts to deliver high‑quality software solutions.
What You Need
Minimum of 5 years of software development experience.
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
Prior experience as a developer in a Scrum team.
Expertise in IBM Assembler on z/OS and z/OS LE.
Skills with system‑level functions such as SVCs and PC calls.
Experience using Source Code Management tools such as Endevor and GitHub.
Open to learning new technologies and languages, following new trends, and continuous innovation.
Additional Skills That Will Benefit Your Efforts
Experience with zOS systems components and subsystems such as JCL, ISPF, CICS, CLIST, PL/1, and mainframe databases like Datacom, IDMS, DB2.
Additional experience in languages such as Metal C, COBOL, REXX, C, and C++.
Knowledge of test automation, Jenkins, Python, and CI/CD automation.
Experience with Blackduck, Coverity, and zACS tools.
Solid knowledge of reading system dumps.
Compensation And Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is $91,000 - $146,000. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and equity in accordance with the equity plan documents and award agreements. Broadcom offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(K) participation with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company‑paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
