Xscape Photonics Inc
We are seeking a Photonics Data Analysis Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to join our team. This role focuses on analyzing large sets of photonic device, module, and system‑level data to extract insights, improve performance, and drive product development. The ideal candidate combines strong data science skills with a solid understanding of photonics and semiconductor processes, and has experience collaborating with fab and design teams to optimize yield and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, process, and analyze data from photonic devices, modules, and systems (e.g., lasers, modulators, detectors, transceivers).
Develop models and algorithms to evaluate device and system performance, reliability, and yield.
Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to identify trends, correlations, and root causes of variability.
Build dashboards, automated pipelines, and visualization tools for data monitoring and reporting.
Collaborate with photonics design, test, and fab process engineering teams to understand design–process interactions.
Partner with the fab to identify sources of process variation, drive yield improvement, and feed data‑driven recommendations into design and manufacturing.
Support yield improvement, performance optimization, and failure analysis through data‑driven methodologies.
Document findings and present technical results to cross‑functional teams and leadership.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
5–10 years of industry experience in data analysis, photonics, or semiconductor manufacturing.
Strong background in data analysis, statistics, six‑sigma, and signal processing.
Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, R, or similar analysis tools.
Experience with JMP or similar software package for statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE) in yield and process optimization.
Knowledge of photonics or optical communication systems.
Experience working with cross‑functional teams including fab and design groups.
Preferred:
Experience with machine learning (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Hands‑on experience with photonics testing, optical alignment, electrical probing, and or related optical/electrical measurement equipment (e.g., laser, power meter, SMUs, OSA, reflectometer, oscilloscope, ESA) BERT, interferometers).
Familiarity with semiconductor device manufacturing, fab processes, and test data analysis.
Experience with cloud‑based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience with SQL or noSQL databases.
Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level
Employment Type Full‑time
Job Function Computer Hardware Manufacturing
