Director and Actuary – AIGRM
Overview At AIG, we’re reimagining the way we help customers manage risk. As a Director and Actuary in AIG’s Risk Management (AIGRM) team, you will lead the development, calibration and implementation of commercial insurance rating tools, contribute to pricing and reserving analyses, and partner with actuarial, underwriting, finance and claims teams to improve how we predict, manage and mitigate risk.
Responsibilities
Become a key member of the rater analytics actuarial team: participating in the creation, development, and implementation of pricing methodologies for loss-sensitive property & casualty business.
Help design, validate, and implement actuarial pricing models in a collaborative environment.
Apply quantitative and statistical packages such as R and SAS to monitor loss trends and industry changes, and communicate findings to management.
Develop analytical tools and reports to aid the business in portfolio management.
Utilize predictive modeling techniques to enhance pricing and reserving methodologies.
Blend classical actuarial methods with modern statistical approaches.
Manage projects and provide guidance to team members.
Act independently in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment and explain complex technical results to stakeholders.
Develop expertise in AIGRM's lines: workers’ compensation, commercial auto liability, and general liability.
Qualifications
BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related area.
FCAS or ACAS designations.
Significant experience in pricing long-tail commercial lines products preferred.
Proficiency in Excel, SQL, SAS, Python, R or other programming languages.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong business and collaboration skills; responsive to service needs and operational demands.
Effective time‑management and communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Customer focus.
