Tax Senior Manager, Private Client Services
We are seeking an experienced professional to assist in providing tax compliance and consulting services to our high net worth clients. This role requires significant knowledge of taxation related to personal income, estate and gift tax, wealth retention strategies, as well as taxation of entities owned by business owners (partnership and corporate taxation).
Job Responsibilities
Review basic to complex individual and other tax returns.
Identify and perform research when needed and report findings.
Interact directly with clients and their advisors.
Communicate project status with supervisors, engagement teams and clients.
Assist with administrative responsibilities including billing, cash collection, recruiting, attendance and participation in CPE activities and training.
Manage client engagements, supervise and review work of team members.
Demonstrate understanding of tax concepts and pursue increased tax knowledge through client engagements and current tax developments.
Identify tax planning and consulting opportunities.
Participate in and initiate business development and networking activities.
Manage and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) as established by the business line.
Collaborate with firm specialists and other business lines to increase cross‑service opportunities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Develop and train employees.
Supervise associates, senior associates and managers on all projects.
Review work prepared by associates and senior associates and provide review comments.
Train others on software tools and PCS methodology.
Schedule and manage workload of associates and senior associates.
Act as a career advisor to associates and senior associates.
Provide verbal and written performance feedback.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation (preferred).
Juris Doctorate (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation (preferred).
Seven (7) or more years of public accounting and private client services experience (required).
Public accounting experience in the private client area (preferred).
CPA or Licensed Attorney (required).
CFP or Masters in Tax (preferred).
Experience with Gosystems and BNA Tax Planner (preferred).
Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).
Strong communication, analytical, research and critical thinking skills.
Solid organizational skills with focus on meeting deadlines.
Ability to multitask and work independently or in a group.
Basic knowledge of fundamental accounting, finance and tax principles.
General accounting knowledge and basic to intermediate tax knowledge.
Understanding of financial planning concepts.
Effective delegation and client relationship management.
Salary
California: $146,000 - $200,000
Colorado: $120,000 - $185,000
Maryland: $152,000 - $188,000
NYC / Long Island / Westchester: $175,000 - $205,000
Washington: $150,000 - $200,000
Washington DC: $156,000 - $200,000
