Job Description The Cardiovascular Intervention Center, part of the Smidt Heart Institute, performs over 8,000 procedures annually and serves patients from neonates to geriatrics. In this environment the Clinical Nurse III will work in Perianesthesia, delivering pre‑ and post‑operative care for Electrophysiology and Cardiac Catheterization patients. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, and evaluation of sedation or anesthesia complications, and facilitating patient transition to inpatient units or same‑day discharge.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred.
License/Certification:
Current unrestricted California RN License required; Current AHA ACLS required; CCRN or CVRN preferred or willing to obtain within one year of hire.
Experience:
Minimum three years acute‑care nursing experience required; applicants with 1–3 years experience considered; at least one year critical‑care experience strongly recommended.
PACU Training:
PACU‑trained RNs eligible for Clinical Nurse III qualification; otherwise Clinical Nurse II title applies.
