The BM I, AVP position typically exists in a small-to-medium location, with staff of up to 6 full-time and part-time employees, including Relationship Specialists, Branch Team Lead, Relationship Managers, and an Assistant Branch Manager. Under limited supervision, the BM I, AVP assists the VP of Sales in all branch operations, implementing sales, service, and business plans, and increasing market visibility through civic and community relations.
The BM I, AVP maximizes human and financial resources by developing and executing a branch sales and business plan, seeking new business opportunities, promoting products and services to meet annual goals, and developing employees to deliver quality service. They plan, control, and direct branch personnel toward attainment of all branch goals, including sales, referrals, member service, and risk management. They oversee daily operations and ensure compliance with credit union policies.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direct day‑to‑day operations of sales and service functions, ensuring member retention.
Conduct business development and grassroots activities to acquire new members and accounts.
Develop staff through training, coaching, and mentoring to enhance service and sales performance.
Foster an environment of employee empowerment.
Lead weekly staff meetings, one‑on‑one meetings, and daily sales huddles.
Develop and monitor branch budgets and variance reports.
Respond swiftly to complex service issues to achieve member satisfaction.
Promote and participate in branch and company events, coordinating with event planners.
Attend civic and community functions and maintain liaisons with business organizations.
Support business partners such as investment auto brokers and mortgage loan consultants.
Write performance evaluations, recommend promotions and salary increases, recruit and interview, and recommend hiring or termination.
Attend and participate in required meetings and training.
Set and monitor individual staff goals.
Ensure accurate tracking of sales and marketing programs.
Represent the credit union professionally.
Maintain confidentiality of member and sensitive information.
Other related duties as assigned.
Treat all co‑workers and members with respect.
Support continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
3+ years in a financial institution; at least 2 years supervisory experience at a Branch Supervisor level, with experience in business development and a sales culture, supervising at least 5 people of which at least 1 is a lead/supervisor.
Solid knowledge of all deposit and loan products and branch operations, including share insurance and regulations.
Proficiency with PC and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Effective team‑builder with ability to empower and mentor staff.
Ability to interface and communicate with a diversified workforce at all levels.
Strong relationship‑building skills.
Critical‑thinking skills, problem‑solving, juggling multiple priorities and projects, decision‑making, and accountability.
Sales and Service Training.
NMLS Registered.
Education
Associate’s Degree or some college coursework along with related experience.
Pay Scale
Wyoming:
Min – $77,479.17, Mid – $96,848.97, Max – $116,218.76
