About The Role Peraton is looking for a
Senior Infrastructure Engineer (SIE)
to support DISA J6 – Joint Service Provider. The SIE is responsible for engineering network and storage systems supporting the J6 environment and for the day‑to‑day operations of the infrastructure. The SIE should have expertise in designing and implementing scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities
Infrastructure Design – Develop and design scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure solutions
Architecture Planning – Create and maintain detailed architectural diagrams and documentation
Capacity Planning – Assess current and future capacity needs and plan for scalability
Implementation and Deployment – Oversee the deployment of new infrastructure systems
Incident Management – Monitor infrastructure performance and health, respond to and resolve infrastructure‑related incidents and outages
Operate and maintain Big IP F5 partition, including architecture, configuration, and ongoing operational support
Experience with the configuration and operation of Cisco and Juniper switching and routing infrastructure
Familiar with Department of Defense network security requirements and be able to architect, configure, and operate enterprise security appliances (e.g., load balancers) to support the connectivity of distributed enterprise applications
Ensure proper configuration management of network configuration items
Provide traffic engineering analysis and studies as directed by the program office; this will include such tasks as WAN optimization studies and network troubleshooting involving IP packet capture and analysis
Troubleshoot storage replication issues, link errors, congestion, and service interruptions
Provide customer network site surveys
Develop and manage the execution of detailed transition plans for projects
Provide input and detailed response plans for Risk Management
Develop and maintain Concept of Operations documentation
Participate in organization meetings, town halls, and similar events to integrate into the organization structure
Qualifications
Minimum of 12 years with a BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with an MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with a Ph.D; 16 years of experience with HS.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Ability to obtain DoD Interim Secret Clearance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Network Experience
SAN Experience
Troubleshooting Experience

DoD 8570 certs (Security + ) at a minimum
Compensation Target Salary Range: $112,000 – $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
