Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer

About Grafton Sciences
We’re building AI systems with general physical ability — the capacity to experiment, engineer, or manufacture anything. We believe achieving this is a key step towards building superintelligence. With deep technical roots and real‑world progress at scale (e.g., a $42M NIH project), we’re pushing the frontier of physical AI. Joining us means inventing from first principles, owning real systems end‑to‑end, and helping build a capability the world has never had before.
About The Role We’re seeking a Senior Data Infrastructure & Telemetry Engineer to build and maintain the data backbone that supports agent orchestration, simulation, RL, verification, and large‑scale experimentation. You’ll create systems that capture, store, index, and serve the world‑state graph, telemetry streams, digital twin parameters, simulation data, and experiment traces. This role requires a systems‑minded engineer who can design high‑performance data architectures, ensure deterministic retrieval, and integrate tightly with ML, simulation, and tooling teams.
Responsibilities
Architect and maintain databases, telemetry pipelines, and storage systems for world‑state, hypergraphs, simulations, and experiment data.
Build ingestion, indexing, and retrieval workflows that support RL, verifiers, digital twins, and agent systems.
Develop structured interfaces and APIs for reliable, high‑throughput access to time‑series data, logs, traces, and metadata.
Collaborate with ML, systems architecture, simulation, and tooling teams to ensure data fidelity, performance, and reproducibility.
Qualifications
Experience building data infrastructure for large‑scale, high‑throughput, or real‑time systems (e.g., telemetry, simulation, robotics, ML).
Strong understanding of databases, time‑series storage, data modeling, distributed systems, and structured APIs.
Ability to design robust ingestion pipelines and work with complex, heterogeneous data generated by real‑world systems.
Comfortable owning end‑to‑end data reliability and working across engineering, ML, and systems teams in a fast‑moving environment.
Above all, we look for candidates who can demonstrate world‑class excellence.
Compensation We offer competitive salary, meaningful equity, and benefits.
