Head Coach – Women’s Lacrosse at Trinity Washington University (Washington, DC)
Salary: $6,000 (part‑time)
Trinity Washington University, founded in 1897, is a historically Black and Hispanic‑serving Catholic women’s college committed to providing access and excellence to underserved students. The Athletics Department seeks a dynamic part‑time Head Coach to lead the Women’s Lacrosse program.
Responsibilities
Support the mission and vision of Trinity Washington University and the Athletics Department, complying with all department rules, regulations and protocols.
Teach and enhance players’ fundamental lacrosse skills.
Create game plans, playbooks, and strategies to maximize team strengths.
Organize and conduct effective practice sessions, drills, and scrimmages.
Lead the team during games, make in‑game adjustments, and review game footage.
Provide guidance on personal development, academic progress, and overall well‑being.
Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful team environment and encourage good sportsmanship.
Ensure player safety, enforce team rules, monitor academic eligibility, and manage injury protocols.
Identify, recruit, and retain players for the team.
Manage team logistics, including travel, equipment and scheduling.
Qualifications
Demonstrated success in coaching at the collegiate or high‑school level, and/or experience as a collegiate lacrosse player.
Bachelor’s degree required; prior recruiting experience preferred.
Thorough understanding of lacrosse rules and coaching techniques.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
