Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr
I'm partnering with a highly selective, early‑stage neuro biotech in San Francisco that's building its founding scientific team. We're looking for a
hands‑on PhD neuroscientist
with strong experience in
mouse surgeries
(stereotaxic, viral injections, cranial implants) and
EEG/EMG/ESG .
This is a ground‑floor role where you'll run your own in‑vivo studies and help shape the scientific direction. There's potential for a
future Head‑of path
as the company scales.
Responsibilities
Perform mouse surgeries including stereotaxic procedures and implant setups
Conduct EEG/EMG/ESG and other electrophysiology recordings
Design, run, and analyze in‑vivo neuroscience experiments
Maintain mouse colonies and ensure high‑quality welfare and compliance
Collaborate with founders and cross‑functional scientists on experimental strategy
Build early protocols, workflows, and best practices for the in‑vivo function
Qualifications
PhD in Neuroscience or related field
0-5 years post‑PhD
Strong, hands‑on mouse surgical experience
Electrophysiology experience (EEG/EMG/ESG)
Strong academic track record (publications, leadership, initiatives)
Fully onsite in South San Francisco
