Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department. The DON will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and leading a team of skilled nursing professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for improving patient outcomes.

Responsibilities Leadership & Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage the nursing staff, including registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and nursing assistants.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support professional development for nursing staff.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient care and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Clinical Oversight:
Oversee the assessment, planning, and implementation of resident care plans to ensure high standards of care.
Monitor and evaluate the quality of care delivered, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that the facility adheres to all state, federal, and local regulations, including the guidelines set by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Prepare for and participate in inspections, audits, and accreditation processes.
Resource Management:
Manage nursing department budgets, including staffing levels, equipment, and supplies.
Ensure the efficient use of resources while maintaining high standards of care.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments, including administration, therapy, and dietary services, to coordinate comprehensive care for residents.
Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and community partners.
Qualifications
Education: RN required, bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a nursing role in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility, with at least 1 year in a management or leadership role.
Proven track record of successfully managing a nursing department and improving patient care outcomes.
Licensure & Certification
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska.
Certification in Nursing Administration (e.g., CDONA, LNCC) preferred.
Skills
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement principles.
