About The Role:
MIGFR is seeking a Head, Business Data, Intelligence & Analytics, reporting to the MIGFR Director. This senior role will enhance MIGA’s Data & Analytics function, enabling teams across MIGA to interact with and manipulate a broad spectrum of data in a connected and integrated manner. The goal is to drive operational efficiencies, uncover trends, address challenges, and identify opportunities.
Duties And Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of MIGA’s analytics function and information strategy to support business objectives, risk management, and operational efficiency.
Ensure that business applications and analytical capabilities effectively leverage organizational knowledge and strategic insights to inform decision‑making, promote self‑service and reusable data assets.
Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of data to support decision‑making across WBG’s guarantee products and related portfolios; establish data quality controls, lineage, and governance.
Manage MIGA and WBG‑GP’s guarantee and business intelligence platforms, ensuring robust data management, reliable reporting, and continuous improvement of platform capabilities and user experience.
Drive the adoption of advanced analytics, business intelligence, and digital tools to enhance operational effectiveness, risk insight, and responsiveness to evolving business needs.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into data and application requirements; deliver actionable insights and products that support institutional, strategic, and operational goals.
Contribute to the design and rollout of new products and guarantee structures; assess and facilitate their integration into accounting, finance, risk, and business applications to ensure seamless compliance, operationalization, and reporting.
Serve as the key counterpart to MIGA’s Portfolio team for amendments impacting guarantee entry, accounting, and related financial processes; establish protocols to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and audit readiness.
Lead change management initiatives related to business analytics and platforms across the organization, fostering a culture of data‑driven decision‑making through training, communications, and communities of practice.
Represent MIGA in cross‑functional working groups and external forums on data, analytics and platforms; advocate for interoperability and harmonized taxonomies across the WBG Guarantee Platform.
Selection Criteria:
A Master’s degree and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in finance, business analytics, and application development (or equivalent).
Experience with product development and integration of new financial products into business applications and reporting frameworks.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable business insights.
Experience with MIGA’s guarantee products, contracts, reinsurance, financial reporting, policies and procedures, and related applications & platforms is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior management, technical teams, and external partners.
Strong organizational skills, ability to multi‑task, and attention to detail while maintaining clear business priorities.
Ability to articulate complex technical/data concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and facilitate change by building consensus and resolving challenges.
Experience leading teams in multicultural contexts, including performance evaluation, mentoring and accountability for quality and timely delivery.
Prior experience collaborating across WBG units or with the WBG Guarantee Platform is advantageous, including harmonizing taxonomies and integrating related portfolios.
