Strategic Capacity Planning Lead, Third Party Data Centers We are looking for a Strategic Capacity Planning Lead to drive the capacity planning function for Google’s third‑party data center delivery. This role focuses on scaling AI and Cloud compute capacity to meet projected demands, aligning with demand planning, site acquisition, engineering, finance, and procurement.

Location options:

In‑office: Sunnyvale, CA; Austin, TX; New York, NY; Reston, VA; Papillion, NE; Moncks Corner, SC; San Francisco, CA

Remote: California; New York

Salary range:

$227,000–$320,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary is determined by role, level, and location; additional factors such as experience and education also apply.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

10 years of program management experience.

8 years of experience in infrastructure planning, capacity strategy, supply‑chain management, or technical program management within data center, cloud, or related technology industries.

8 years with data center mechanical/electrical and the technical constraints posed by specialized hardware (e.g., GPU/TPU).

8 years managing mission‑critical real‑estate development cycles or capital‑expenditure planning.

7 years of leadership experience, with or without direct reports.

Preferred qualifications:

MBA or Master’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or related quantitative field.

8 years of experience with data analysis, modeling, and visualization tools for actionable insights from large datasets.

Experience leading cross‑functional planning processes and running high‑stakes executive‑level reviews.

Track record of building quantitative models for high‑variability supply/demand forecasting.

Ability to develop scenario planning and contingency models for infrastructure deployment, optimizing for scale, cost, constraints, and risk.

Responsibilities:

Establish and lead the capacity planning function for ISD E2 delivery, covering near‑term and long‑term AI/Cloud forecasts.

Serve as the single source of truth for ISD E2 capacity commitments, providing concise communication on project status, risks, and opportunities to internal leadership.

Develop and manage a market intelligence function focused on the data center landscape, analyzing competitor activity, financial health, build‑out rates, and regional supply/demand concentrations to inform strategy.

Coordinate with demand planning, site acquisition, engineering, finance, and procurement to accelerate delivery and mitigate supply‑chain risk.
