Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer
role at
Vinci4D.ai .
We're building a co-pilot for hardware designers. Our mission is to enable 9M mechanical engineers to iterate through designs 1000x faster.
We are building our geometry + physics driven foundation model for each class of part design.
Already raised the first round of capital from Khosla Ventures!
About You You are a Computational Fluid Dynamicist writing flow solvers for complex geometry applications. Examples of such applications include external flows over moving vehicles (planes, missiles, automobiles etc), flow through machinery such as ducts, turbo-machinery, refrigeration systems, computer heat sinks etc. You are excited when you hear phrases like conjugate heat transfer, multi-physics applications, complex geometries.
Your Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy codes to simulate single and multi-physics (Conjugate Heat Transfer) configurations.
Implement methods to reduce time to solution such as advanced linear and nonlinear solvers.
Assist in the strategy, planning the product roadmap, and prioritize the development in partnership with early customers and design partners.
Build and ship critical product features.
Learn a lot while building products that engineers will love. Also learn about entrepreneurship!
Qualifications
10+ years of experience developing and shipping products.
2+ years of experience working on GPU solvers.
Experience with Finite Volume incompressible flow solver techniques, linear solver methods and libraries.
Experience architecting, training and deploying a feature in resource constrained environments.
Experience with the related technologies, libraries, and languages: C++, CUDA, Python.
Experience with standard modern software development tools and practices.
Experience with multi-physics solver development is an advantage.
Experience with Immersed Boundary Methods is a strong advantage.
Startup experience is a strong advantage.
Experience with Scientific Machine Learning techniques is a definite advantage.
You are excited about entrepreneurship, taking things from 0 to 1, and have a continuous learning mindset.
You are excited about building a solver that will increase engineer productivity by orders of magnitude.
You thrive when you have autonomy and ownership over your work.
Location We’re located in Palo Alto, CA near Caltrain station, planning to work 2-3 days in person.
Benefits and perks
Generous compensation & equity (stock options).
Lunch, drinks, and snacks provided for in-person days.
Seniority level Mid-Senior level
Employment type Full-time
