Overview: The Supply Chain Business Manager is responsible for driving delivery performance, supplier operational excellence, and effective material flow within a global supply chain. This role plays a key part in supporting fast-paced production growth and managing operational complexities across multiple commodities and international suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, and monitor material movement through the production cycle to determine procurement needs.
Establish and track supplier performance through defined metrics, ensuring continuous improvement.
Evaluate supplier quality, performance benchmarks, and risk factors within the supply base.
Collaborate on process improvements in procurement, inventory control (e.g., JIT, Kanban, min/max), and manufacturing strategies.
Develop goals with suppliers to ensure delivery meets forecasted demand.
Represent supplier business management on cross-functional teams to address supply challenges and meet customer requirements.
Partner with engineering and suppliers to resolve complex issues impacting timely delivery of critical material.
Create presentations, white papers, and process documentation to support ongoing improvement initiatives.
Monitor product costs, prevent negative cost variances (PPV), and support cost-reduction initiatives.
Drive enhancements in supplier manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and on-time delivery.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience managing global suppliers and commodity operations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proven success in solving complex problems with scalable and repeatable solutions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
