Summary Seeking an experienced Admission RN for a 32‑bed detoxification facility located in Quincy, MA. The RN will work in a fast‑paced environment, make clear decisions, communicate with the multidisciplinary team, and maintain excellent documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assess each patient’s individual needs based on assessment and data collection to ensure proper admission.
Implement doctor’s orders, administer specified medication, monitor and record vital signs, and maintain medical/nursing records.
Utilize EHR effectively and efficiently.
Direct duties of Treatment Assistants.
Observe patients and document their responses to treatment.
Communicate with counseling staff on a regular basis regarding patient progress and treatment plans.
Discharge patients in accordance with established policy.
Carry out administrative procedures in compliance with program policies.
Serve as a role model.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Working knowledge of utilization reviews.
Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
Strong patient assessment skills.
Education/Experience
Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
Valid MA unrestricted RN license.
Two years’ experience, preferably in a detox setting.
Licenses/Certifications Valid MA Registered Nurse license.
Physical Demands To sit, use hands to manipulate objects, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch, and lift or move up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment The work environment is a detoxification facility for substance‑abusing populations, exposing staff to clients infected with Hepatitis B, HIV, TB, or other infectious diseases.
