WellMed Medical Group, a partner of the Optum Care network, is seeking a passionate and purpose‑driven hospitalist to join our growing team in Corpus Christi, TX. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of inpatient care in one of Texas’s most vibrant and scenic coastal communities.
Why This Role Stands Out
Be a Pioneer : Help expand and elevate WellMed’s hospitalist program in Corpus Christi, bringing value‑based, patient‑centered care to the inpatient setting.
Collaborative Model : Work with a comprehensive care team where 100% of patients have a WellMed primary care provider.
Quality Over Quantity : Typical census is 13‑15 patients per day, allowing you to focus on outcomes, not volume.
Whole‑Person Care : The model integrates physical, mental, and social health to treat the whole patient.
Geriatric‑Focused : Serve a panel of Medicare Advantage patients with a focus on prevention and quality of life.
Performance‑Based Incentives : Bonuses tied to quality metrics—not RVUs.

M.D., D.O., or M.B.B.S.
