This position resides within IQVIA’s Medical Affairs Strategy & Excellence Team and encourages a dynamic culture that values diversity of thought. As a Manager, you will directly address the most pressing strategic needs of our Medical Affairs clients, influencing how the medical voice shapes drug development and commercialization across therapy areas.

In this delivery role you will grow your innovation, management, strategy, and sales skill sets. You will partner with clients to anticipate their needs and deliver on their key priorities, lead delivery on projects, manage day‑to‑day tasks and project milestones, and support the development of staff. The role also involves business development and offering development, in partnership with practice Principals and other IQVIA teams. Potential projects may include evidence generation strategy, medical patient journey, retrospective or prospective study design and execution, thought leadership network identification, and more.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead teams in the design, development, and delivery of projects; responsible for project strategy, methodology design & approach, and ensuring the project delivers high levels of quality and added value. Work with Principals in the management of complex projects.

Manage day‑to‑day client engagement and ensure the project team achieves efficient and effective project delivery.

Provide input to and help develop client reports and presentations, delivering significant portions of findings to clients.

Serve as a Medical Affairs and solutions‑based expert, applying consultative problem‑solving skills. Work with practice Principals and other IQVIA teams to strengthen your Medical Affairs and consulting expertise.

Proactively strengthen medical and therapeutic subject‑matter expertise through on‑the‑job experience, conferences, symposiums, and other professional forums.

Provide formal and informal coaching to junior team members; may have line‑management responsibility over time.

Mentor, coach, and share subject‑matter expertise with others to elevate capabilities and deliver world‑class solutions for clients.

Support Principals in business development, including proposal preparations and modifications while ensuring overall bid integrity.

Seek out and discuss new revenue opportunities with existing clients, ensuring a continuous flow of business from client engagements.

Work with senior Medical Affairs Strategy staff, Practice Leaders, and subject‑matter experts to develop offerings.

Desired Experience & Specialized Knowledge

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred.

8+ years’ experience within medical affairs or related areas within the pharmaceutical, healthcare consulting, or related industry.

Strong understanding in one or more of the following medical affairs domains: clinical development, study design, patient care, real‑world data (medical and pharmacy claims, EMR data, etc.), HCP engagement by life‑sciences companies. Experience in adjacent domains such as regulatory or pharmacovigilance is also considered.

Experience leading project teams in a matrixed organization.

Strong project delivery skills and the ability to translate past successes into new opportunities with clients.

Knowledge of business fundamentals, revenue expectations, and the impact of external and internal influences on decision‑making and growth.

Strong leadership, client engagement, strategic thinking, and consultative skill set, with the ability to manage complex relationships and juggle priorities.

Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including presentations, chairing meetings, workshop facilitation, proposal and report writing.

Knowledge of consulting methodologies, tools, and techniques.

Works effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals.

Some travel may be required (25%).

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $102,200.00 – $284,700.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job‑related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part‑time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
