Join North Shore Health as an MDS Director to lead accurate resident assessment and ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and OBRA regulations. This full‑time role offers opportunity to grow within the largest post‑acute provider in the Upper Midwest.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee development, completion, and electronic submission of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) for each resident.
Chair and coordinate interdisciplinary care plans and monthly interdisciplinary conferences.
Review a random sample of MDS to ensure internal consistency and accuracy against the medical record.
Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including timely filing, validation reports, and census accuracy.
Provide training and support to nursing, therapy, and clinical staff on MDS documentation and clinical record requirements.
Generate audit reports, monitor billing accuracy for Medicaid, HMO, VA residents, and compile default reports.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the state licensing board.
Clinical experience in geriatrics and post‑acute care, with proven competence in PPS assessment and OBRA compliance.
Strong organizational skills, independent decision‑making, and excellent clinical assessment ability.
Proficiency with the MDS software system and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing post‑acute care and experience with Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement systems.
Preferred:
2+ years of experience, fast‑paced environment, and post‑acute care background.
