About the Company Our client is a respected, family‑owned engine of high‑quality livestock production, built on strong values, long‑term partnerships, and a close‑knit culture. They are looking for a Business Development Director to make a true impact across a wide range of projects as the business evolves.
Position Overview The Business Development Director will serve as the central liaison between the company and its contract growers throughout Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa. The role requires a relationship‑driven professional comfortable in agricultural environments, navigating complex conversations, and supporting growers with business and operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of communication and support for contract growers in the region.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with growers through regular site visits and consistent communication.
Lead and manage contract negotiations with an emphasis on fairness, clarity, and long‑term partnership.
Provide problem‑solving support for growers, helping address concerns and maintain positive working relationships.
Navigate conflict resolution with professionalism and diplomacy.
Work cross‑functionally with internal teams to advocate for grower needs and support operational initiatives.
Participate in special projects and company‑wide strategic efforts where expertise can drive improvement.
Qualifications
Strong background in contract negotiation and partner relationship management – preferably within the livestock or agricultural industry.
Comfortable interacting with growers, producers, and agricultural stakeholders.
Excellent communication, conflict‑resolution, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to build rapport, maintain professionalism, and foster long‑term trust.
Willingness to travel regionally within Southern MN and Northern IA.
Valid driver’s license.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $120,000‑$140,000 (plus bonus potential)
