In this role you will be engaged with key customers and internal architects, field application teams, and internal stakeholders to define EPYC product architecture that requires technically analysing, defining outside‑in usage cases, and mapping across a broad spectrum of technologies to ensure a holistic, constrained system spanning silicon, platform HW/SW, and usages to deliver the best customer experiences. You will provide a cohesive technical vision of the required end‑to‑end architecture, considering prioritized use cases and the need to scale.
Key Responsibilities
Define Server Product Architecture.
Architect solutions using AMD processors, accelerators, network components for high‑performance computing, server and mega‑datacenter applications, staying at the forefront of system hardware innovation.
Work closely with customers, processor architects, IP and SOC architects, network and I/O device architects, application software developers and system software developers, and business unit to define product, system and component requirements for best performance, power balance and cost.
Research and develop next‑generation server designs to continually improve performance.
Influence the shaping of future products/solutions by contributing significantly to product and system architecture and technology execution throughout the server product line.
Apply deep knowledge of product architecture and design including memory, I/O, signal integrity, power integrity, packaging, power delivery, thermal and mechanical aspects, power management, boot process, firmware and hardware management.
Demonstrate a track record of working with leading technology companies to jointly engineer outstanding products based on new SoCs/CPUs/chipsets.
Establish credibility with engineering and leadership counterparts at top technology companies, communicate technical results and positions clearly and accurately, and drive alignment on solutions.
Preferred Experience
Demonstrated server product expertise through multiple projects from architecture, development, design—including memory, I/O, power delivery, power management, boot process, firmware and BMC/hardware management—across bring‑up, validation and production release.
Detailed understanding of server industry standards such as DDR, PCIe, SATA, and other high‑speed I/O protocols.
Proven engineering problem‑solving ability and a track record of pushing boundaries to deliver innovative and differentiating products.
Experience working seamlessly across engineering disciplines and geographies to deliver excellent results.
Academic Credentials
Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with extensive experience.
