Social Network Analyst (Regional Specialty) - Mid-Level
The Social Network Analyst provides advanced all-source link and nodal analysis to identify, map, and characterize complex networks of state and non‑state actors across the Indo‑Pacific region. These analysts apply advanced social network analysis (SNA) techniques to assess vulnerabilities, identify operational opportunities, and support theater‑wide intelligence and targeting efforts. The ideal candidate combines regional expertise, structured analytic tradecraft, and strong technical proficiency in SNA tools and methodologies.

Mission Area
USINDOPACOM J2 - Regional Analysis / Network Targeting
Advanced Social Network & Link Analysis
Conducts in‑depth social network and link analysis using all‑source intelligence and advanced SNA methodologies.
Identifies key nodes, relationships, and patterns to uncover opportunities to disrupt, degrade, or influence adversarial networks.
Assesses intelligence gaps and predicts areas for enhanced collection based on PIRs, EEIs, collection strategies, and RFIs.
Collaboration with Analysts & IC Partners
Works closely with regional all‑source analysts, IC partners, and mission stakeholders to conduct rigorous network assessments.
Identifies vulnerable malign actors, enabling operational response options, lead generation, and target development.
Network Visualization & Analytic Products
Produces comprehensive network diagrams, link charts, infographics, and other visual analytic products highlighting key relationships, influencers, and structural vulnerabilities.
Utilizes unique datasets, analytic tools, and multi‑source intelligence to support detailed network mapping and decision‑making.
Tradecraft Excellence & Product Development
Demonstrates mastery (Senior) or proficiency (Mid‑Level) in IC analytic tradecraft standards and structured analytic methodologies.
Produces a wide range of intelligence products including
Social network analyses
Network diagrams and link charts
Planning support materials
Executive travel support products
RFI and TMS responses
Custom analytic products tailored to stakeholder requirements
Collection Requirements & Gap Identification
Evaluates IC products and identifies intelligence gaps that impede network understanding or targeting.
Generates and submits intelligence collection requirements to national‑level collectors to address USINDOPACOM intelligence shortfalls.
Interagency & Partner Coordination
Coordinates with U.S. Embassy Country Teams, interagency partners, and USINDOPACOM Component Commands.
Supports lead generation, network exploitation strategies, and target prioritization across the theater.
Required Qualifications
Experience conducting all‑source link analysis, social network analysis, or network targeting for DoD or IC missions.
Strong understanding of Indo‑Pacific regional dynamics and malign actor networks.
Proficiency with SNA tools, visualization software, and analytic methodologies.
Skilled in producing network diagrams, link charts, infographics, and structured analytic products.
Ability to collaborate effectively with IC, diplomatic, and DoD stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting USINDOPACOM, SOF, interagency targeting, or regional security missions.
Familiarity with IC tradecraft standards and structured analytic techniques.
Experience generating collection requirements and supporting target development.
Background in data science, sociology, political science, intelligence analysis, or related fields.
