Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Director to lead the creation and optimization of next‑generation residential device platforms, which will be deployed to more than 100 million devices, creating an extensive network/IoT ecosystem for end users and ISP operators. By staying up to date with industry trends, you will contribute to the growth and success of TP‑Link’s consumer network product line and coordinate across hardware, manufacturing, cloud, and mobile teams to deliver high‑quality products from concept to market. Key Responsibilities Lead the embedded software team: Drive feature development, quality, and innovation, mentor managers, optimize workflows, publish technical articles, and enhance R&D quality system. Shape platform direction: Oversee development and integration of industry‑standard frameworks and key features, collaborate with Product Management to translate customer needs into practical solutions. Define technical roadmap: Partner closely with product teams, engage with open‑source communities, capture account customer needs, guide system architecture, and ensure scalable, secure designs. Coordinate global collaboration: Align international R&D resources, facilitate daily stand‑ups and cross‑team communication. Build and grow teams: Recruit, mentor, inspire top talent, refine training programs, and foster a culture of innovation and accountability. Requirements 10+ years of professional software development experience. 5+ years of engineering team management experience. Strong understanding of computer architecture, network protocols, and related algorithms. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Demonstrated leadership skills. Experience leading design, build, and deployment of complex, reliable software solutions. Experience partnering with product or program management teams. Proven track record of bringing consumer electronics products from design to market. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively. Preferred Qualifications Experience with PRPL, RDK platform and networking or telecommunications environments. Experience managing new software developer teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation of complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
