Lead Software Test Development Engineer for Hardware Manufacturing

How will you make an impact?
Jabil is seeking a Lead Software Test Development Engineer who will directly contribute to the validation test solutions in place for server hardware manufacturing facilities, ensuring quality and reliability of hardware products in a large‑scale production environment.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy test systems and procedures for hardware validation during manufacturing processes, including test plans, cases, and scripts for components such as motherboards, memory, CPU, storage (SSD, HDD, NVMe), and PCIe devices.
Create, validate, release, and maintain test software and scripts that automate testing, controlling equipment, collecting data, and generating reports.
Support and maintain manufacturing server (L10) and rack (L11‑L12) level test software and infrastructure, including minor configuration changes for new product variants or revisions.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of test procedures, specifications, and infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality assurance personnel to align on testing requirements and quality standards.
Qualifications
Education:
BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred; relevant experience considered.
Experience:
5–8 years in manufacturing test development/sustaining with enterprise server, storage or networking products.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent communication skills; experience with server hardware interaction, validation, and configuration; proficiency in 2–3 of the core skills below.
Core skills (required at least 2–3):
Programming/scripting languages: Python, Java, Bash, C, C++ (plus experience in others).
Linux development (CentOS/Ubuntu).
Hardware/API tools for L10 devices: IPMI, Redfish, mprime, FIO, Linpack, ptugen, memtester, iperf.
VM setup (DHCP, PXE, Nginx, VMware).
Knowledge of datacenter networking (Ethernet, L1‑L3, BGP, DHCP Relay, ECMP); Arista CloudVision a plus.
Git and version control; strong professional software engineering practices.
Experience working in multi‑site and multi‑cultural environments.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in EE/CE, Computer Science.
10+ years in electronics manufacturing industry.
Experience with test architecture design and methodology.
Experience with hyperscale customers and environments.
Experience with 5+ of the core skills described above.
Benefits The pay range for this role is $103,000 – $185,400. As part of the total rewards package, this position is eligible for a short‑term incentive based on performance. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance plans; paid time off accruing at a rate of 3.07 hours during the first year of employment; 4 weeks of paid parental leave; 11 company‑paid holidays (9 fixed, 2 optional); 401(k) retirement plan; and employee stock purchase plan.
