Sr. Java Developer with Insurance Experience – Boston, MA – Salary: $198,000.00–$286,000.00
Responsibilities
Participate as part of a team designing, developing, implementing, and supporting web-based insurance applications.
Develop robust business applications to facilitate insurance product sales, customer interactions, and agent communications.
Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs.
Write and maintain source code for Java/J2EE-based applications.
Develop unit test cases and support functional/system integration testing and deployment activities.
Integrate component designs and ensure seamless operation within the application ecosystem.
Provide production support and ensure adherence to development schedules.
Stay updated on internet trends, technologies, and industry best practices.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving, workflow analysis, and interpersonal skills.
Provide technical direction to others and promote teamwork across different departments.
Contribute actively to hands-on development activities.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in JAVA/J2EE, Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, XML, DB2, and SQL.
Proficient in design skills (e.g., class, sequence, and activity diagrams).
Experience with SOAP and REST web services development.
Desirable: Knowledge of P&C Insurance industry, WebSphere, JBOSS, ESB (Mule), Drools, JUnit, Hibernate/MyBatis, Spring, Web Services, Unix Shell Scripting.
Preferred: Front-end/UI development experience, especially with AngularJS.
Understanding of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, and diverse technologies.
Familiarity with layered systems architectures and solutions.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Strong work ethics and ability to work onsite 4 days a week in Boston, MA.
