Marketing Operations & Technology Manager

Position Summary The Marketing Operations & Technology Manager will be the strategic architect of our marketing technology stack, responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing automated workflows that drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. This role sits at the intersection of marketing strategy and technology execution, ensuring our MarTech ecosystem operates as a seamless, high‑performing engine that scales with our rapid growth.
Platform Oversight & Integration
Own the complete marketing technology ecosystem, including CRM, marketing automation, email platforms, analytics tools, and customer data platforms
Design and maintain integrations between marketing tools, ensuring seamless data flow and unified customer experiences
Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance marketing capabilities and operational efficiency
Manage vendor relationships and contract negotiations for marketing technology platforms
Data Management & Governance
Establish data governance protocols for customer data collection, storage, and usage across all marketing platforms
Ensure data quality and consistency across systems through regular audits and cleansing processes
Implement tracking and attribution models to measure marketing performance accurately
Maintain compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA)
Campaign Automation Development
Design and build sophisticated marketing automation workflows for lead nurturing, customer onboarding, and retention campaigns
Create behavioral trigger campaigns based on customer actions, preferences, and lifecycle stage
Develop personalization engines that deliver relevant content and offers based on customer data and behavior
Implement advanced segmentation strategies for targeted messaging and improved conversion rates
Customer Journey Optimization
Map and optimize customer journeys from awareness through advocacy, identifying automation opportunities
Build multi‑channel workflows that coordinate messaging across email, SMS, social media, and web experiences
Create dynamic content systems that adapt messaging based on customer attributes and behavior
Develop lead scoring and qualification models to optimize sales handoff processes
Marketing Performance Measurement
Build comprehensive reporting dashboards that track key marketing metrics, campaign performance, and ROI
Conduct regular performance analysis of automation workflows, identifying optimization opportunities
Implement A/B testing frameworks for continuous improvement of campaigns and workflows
Provide actionable insights to marketing leadership on performance trends and recommendations
Attribution & Revenue Tracking
Develop multi‑touch attribution models to accurately measure marketing’s impact on revenue
Track customer lifetime value and cohort performance across different acquisition channels
Analyze conversion funnels and identify bottlenecks in the customer journey
Create predictive models for customer behavior and campaign performance
Operational Efficiency
Streamline marketing operations through automation, reducing manual tasks and improving team productivity
Establish standard operating procedures for campaign creation, testing, and deployment
Implement quality assurance processes to ensure campaign accuracy and brand consistency
Create training materials and documentation for marketing team on technology usage and best practices
Scalability Planning
Design systems and processes that can scale with rapid business growth
Plan technology roadmap aligned with business objectives and growth projections
Evaluate and recommend infrastructure improvements to support increased marketing volume
Develop disaster recovery and backup protocols for critical marketing systems
Competencies
Expert‑level proficiency in marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Marketo, Klaviyo, Pardot)
Advanced knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot CRM, Pipedrive)
Experience with customer data platforms (Segment, mParticle, Tealium)
Proficiency in email marketing platforms and SMS marketing tools
Strong SQL skills for data extraction, analysis, and reporting
Experience with analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel)
Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI)
Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
API integration experience for connecting marketing tools and data sources
Basic coding skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for email and landing page development
Zapier/automation tool expertise for building workflow connections
Understanding of tracking implementation (Google Tag Manager, pixels, UTM parameters)
Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights
Experience with A/B testing methodologies and statistical analysis
Understanding of marketing attribution models and customer journey mapping
Ability to develop KPIs and performance measurement frameworks
Excellent project management skills with experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
Strong communication abilities to work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Experience leading cross‑functional projects and managing vendor relationships
Ability to train and support team members on technology usage
Education & Experience
5‑7 years in marketing operations, marketing technology, or related roles
Proven experience managing complex MarTech stacks in high‑growth environments
Direct experience with marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, Klaviyo)
Background in DTC, health/wellness, or subscription‑based businesses preferred
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
