Job Type Full-time
Description Century Therapeutics is developing novel allogeneic living cell products for oncology, autoimmune disease, and Type I Diabetes that overcome the limitations of current cell therapies. Century’s genetically engineered, iPSC‑derived cell therapies are designed to specifically target and deplete pathogenic cells or restore endogenous cellular function. Our commitment to developing off-the-shelf cell therapies will expand patient access and provide an unparalleled opportunity to advance therapies.
Century’s foundational technology is built on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) that have unlimited self‑renewing capacity. This enables complex cellular engineering to produce controlled cell banks of modified cells that can be expanded and differentiated into desired cell populations, which can supply vast amounts of allogeneic, homogeneous therapeutic products. This platform differentiates Century from other approaches that utilize non‑renewable donor‑derived cells.
Role The Scientist or Senior Scientist will build out our automated analysis tooling that is central to our scientific process at Century. This system ingests data from many assays across Research and delivers timely analysis and visualizations to scientists, maximizing the rate of iterative scientific advancement. The candidate will further grow the capabilities of this system through software development, data engineering, and collaborations.
The role will also involve targeted data analysis projects, presentations, and collaborative work with our research teams and within Comp Bio & Data Sciences, with a specific focus on our beta islet cell therapy program. We collect extensive omics and other multivariate data during and after differentiation that the individual will mine for iterative improvement of our therapy products.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain automated analysis and data visualization tools to support iterative scientific research across multiple teams at Century.
Conduct data analysis projects using a combination of internal and public data sets to further development of our beta islet cell therapy product.
Qualifications Doctorate degree and 1-3 years of industry experience (Scientist) or 4+ years (Senior Scientist), with a substantial and demonstrable computational and data analysis component.
Keywords Computational Biology, Data Science, Visualization, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Software Development, R, Python
Requirements
Excellent scientific, logical, and critical thinking abilities. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Training in biology including a robust knowledge of gene regulation and expression, and familiarity with basic cell biology and genetics.
Experience with software development, industry practices, and related tooling.
Strong programming skills in both Python and R.
Independent, self‑directed, and focused on completing objectives.
Experience with data analysis, data visualization, preparing and processing data, computational pipelines, etc.
Some training in Statistics, including probability theory, statistical distributions, linear regression, and multivariate modeling.
Desired
Experience working with scientific data, particularly gene expression data
Familiarity with AI‑enhanced coding practices and tooling
Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, etc.)
Familiarity with Linux, shell scripting, command line tools, and text processing.
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, and the aws command line tool).
Key Details
Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level
Employment type: Full-time
Job function: Research, Analyst, and Information Technology
