Job Description Summary The Project Engineer II is responsible for the success of project technical deliverables in collaboration with chief engineers, subsystem technical leads, engineering functional managers, and project managers. One works with engineering teams through design, analysis, prototype, integration, troubleshooting and verification and assists in new product launch to production.

Position Responsibilities

Improve product development processes by employing lessons learned and best practices such as modeling and simulation, design reviews, DFMEA, Six Sigma/lean product development, DFX, and customer feedback.

Coordinate cross‑discipline teams through meetings and progress measurement activity to bring distinct, specific projects to completion on time and within budget.

Work on development of subsystem specifications, characterization & performance evaluations in support of system requirements.

Participate in prototype builds, key suppliers, contractors and 3rd party design service providers/consultants.

Drive development of subsystem specifications, characterization, and performance evaluations in support of system requirements.

Work on day‑to‑day technical aspects for the project, including facilitating cross‑discipline decision making, design reviews, defect tracking, engineering tasks/schedule/status management, issue resolution and risk management activities.

Share and introduce tools to improve project engineering excellence.

Apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.

Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations of data requires a review of a variety of factors.

Normally receive general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects.

Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Minimum of 2–5 years of related technical experience in product development.

Proven and demonstrated experience with full product development life cycle from concept to production with a proven track‑record of launching new products to production.

Proven and demonstrated execution of product development methods and best practices.

Experience working within integrated product teams.

Broad‑based technical knowledge and experience to understand and evaluate design and development activity across engineering disciplines.

Ability to analyze the assigned project, break down work into functional disciplines and/or subsystems, and create design/develop plans.

Strong organization, facilitation and negotiation skills.

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies

Familiarity with aerospace military/defense contracting environment highly desirable.

Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and success to deliver products that meet requirements on time and on budget.

Able to excel in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties.

Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives.

Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products.

Physical Demands

Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment (constant).

Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (frequent).

The salary range for this role is:

$79,037 - $112,035
