Role Overview The Director of Demand Planning leads the strategic and executional direction of the Demand Planning function, overseeing the development of a 24‑month rolling demand forecast within a multi‑sourced supply chain. This role drives forecast accuracy, aligns inventory levels to business needs, and ensures customers receive a world‑class experience.
Key Responsibilities
Own all components of consumer demand analysis, including statistical forecasting, new product introductions, lifecycle management, cannibalization, seasonality, omni‑channel penetration, and forecast rationalization for leadership.
Partner closely with Merchandising, Replenishment, Logistics, Sales, Finance, and Inventory Management to drive best‑in‑class planning practices.
Manage and develop a team of Demand Planners, shaping their tactical and strategic capabilities and supporting long‑term career growth.

Key Skills & Experience
Advanced forecasting and analytical expertise, including statistical modelling and demand planning methodologies.
Ability to build, refine, and manage forecasting tools such as Logility DAI+ and Excel‑based models.
Strong capability to synthesize large data sets into actionable insights and financial strategies.
Skilled in collaborating with Merchants/Buyers, Replenishment, Inventory, Finance, Logistics, and cross‑functional partners.
Expertise in creating and maintaining rolling 24‑month unit and dollar forecasts, markdown estimates, margin mix, and category‑level plans.
Ability to identify business trends, selling‑pattern changes, SKU performance, and product lifecycle implications.
Experience developing assortment strategies that align with open‑to‑buy targets and overall financial goals.
Strong communication and presentation skills, including ability to deliver forecast rationale and business recommendations to leadership.
Proactive in addressing inventory and sales risks, identifying opportunities, and influencing outcomes.
Experienced people leader able to coach, mentor, and develop planning talent.
Preferred Competencies & Skills
Forecasting and planning experience in the retail industry.
Familiarity with forecasting systems and related software tools.
Strong statistical and analytical background.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of relevant work experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a planning function, ideally retail‑focused.
Advanced Excel proficiency and strong analytical, quantitative, and data‑management skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and navigate change.
Organizational skills, motivation, accountability, and proactive problem‑solving.
