Lead Software Engineer (Java, Spring Boot, AWS - Global Payment Network)
Join Capital One as a Lead Software Engineer and help drive a major transformation within the Global Payment Network. You’ll build cloud‑based microservices, mentor developers, and collaborate with product managers to deliver powerful experiences for millions of Americans.
What You’ll Do
Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and manage a team of distributed microservices developers.
Stay current on tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and mentor peers through internal and external communities.
Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud solutions that meet regulatory needs.
Utilize languages such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go, and tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not count).
At least 1 year of cloud computing experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree.
7+ years of experience in JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.
3+ years of cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure, or other).
4+ years of experience with open‑source frameworks.
1+ year of people‑management experience.
2+ years of Agile practices experience.
