Campus Overview Kettering Health Main Campus

Kettering Health Main Campus, formerly Kettering Medical Center, is the flagship hospital of Kettering Health and has been serving Kettering, Ohio and the Greater Dayton area since 1964.

The facility includes the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Heart Hospital, maternity service with a level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and level II Emergency Care.

In 2020, KH Main Campus received an “A” from the Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States.

Received 4 Star Baby-Friendly Hospital status by the Ohio Hospital Association.

Department Overview Performs Sterile Processing procedures and duties as assigned under the supervision and guidance of the department's manager and the Surgical Services Perioperative Director. This individual is considered an expert and must have the ability to process surgical sets quickly and with the highest of quality.

Responsibilities & Requirements Minimum Education

High School Diploma

Required Licenses

[Ohio, United States] Other Sterile Processing certification required through either the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), the Certification Body for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD), or Association of Surgical Technologists (CST); preferably at the supervisor level.

Minimum Work Experience

Two to three years of sterile processing experience, some supervisory experience preferred. Previous Epic experience preferred.

Required Skills

Must be able to work independently in all areas of Sterile Processing: decontamination, preparation/packaging, sterilization, sterile storage and case carts. Ability to use critical thinking to prioritize appropriately, including staff assignments. Moderate computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office, Outlook (e‑mail), SPM, etc. required.
