About the Role We are looking for a sharp, highly‑motivated, and innately curious Senior Contracts Manager. In this role, you will be a core member of the commercial legal team and a trusted partner to Sales, Revenue Operations, Business Development, and Procurement. You will manage a high‑volume sales pipeline, triage and negotiate commercial agreements, and help evolve playbooks, processes, and systems that enable Rippling to close deals efficiently and effectively. The position reports to the Associate General Counsel, Corporate and works closely with other legal and compliance team members and cross‑functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Serve as the key point of contact for Sales and Procurement, responding to intake requests and explaining contract positions.

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.

Manage negotiations with customers to help unblock deals while protecting Rippling’s risk profile.

Create scalable processes for managing commercial relationships and sales enablement, including operations to support efficient resolution of terms of service questions, NDAs, partnership agreements, and other contract‑management issues.

Develop, implement, and continually improve commercial legal playbooks, policies, and processes, establishing best practices and training materials for cross‑functional partners.

Help design and implement self‑serve tools.

Track metrics related to deal velocity, contract cycles, and negotiation trends.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in contract management, legal operations, or a paralegal capacity at a fast‑paced tech or SaaS company with a deep understanding of SaaS business models and terms.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Strong negotiation skills and ability to work directly with customer counsel.

Ability to prioritize, drive, and respond to multiple competing deadlines in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.

Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems in new areas.

Team player who takes initiative and demonstrates curiosity about how the company and business works.

Entrepreneurial mindset, self‑starting, and comfortable working in a highly dynamic environment.

Experience with CRM/CLM tools (Salesforce, Ironclad, etc.).

About the Team Our team keeps Rippling’s commercial engine running efficiently and compliantly by working to accelerate revenue while protecting the business. We support Sales, Business Development, and other GTM teams globally, advising on commercial strategy, negotiating increasingly complex deals, and enabling Rippling to continue to grow and scale. Compensation

US San Francisco Bay Area: $93,000 – $199,500 USD per year

US Tier 2: $83,700 – $179,550 USD per year

US Tier 1: $93,000 – $199,500 USD per year

This role will receive a competitive salary + benefits + equity. Salary for US‑based employees will be aligned with one of the ranges above based on location. Final offer amounts may vary depending on a candidate’s background, experience, and location.
