Business Development Director – Specialty Chemicals

Location: Greenville, South Carolina, USA Role: Senior Director responsible for growth through new business development in the specialty chemicals market. Responsibilities

Drive new business and partnership opportunities in line with Wood’s business plan. Lead the development of market entry strategies and bid proposals to win new projects. Provide insights on customer needs, competitor landscape, and market trends to build compelling propositions. Maintain strong client relationships and ensure timely delivery of value. Own opportunity record management on the CRM system and ensure compliance and governance. Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, finance, and technical services, to align solutions with client expectations. Provide regular feedback from customer visits to inform continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with Wood’s business ethics, risk assessment, and internal audit requirements. Qualifications

University degree or diploma; post‑graduate qualification (e.g., MBA) preferred. Senior executive experience in business development within engineering, construction, or specialty chemicals. Demonstrated success in winning new business and developing market strategies. Strong leadership, communication, and relationship‑building skills. Proactive attitude, integrity, and respect for all people. Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Relevant specialty chemicals experience or significant practical experience. Business development background in the engineering or construction industry. Business development experience in the chemicals industry market. Significant, proven senior executive experience. Personal Attributes
