Data Architect
to lead the design, governance, and evolution of enterprise‑scale data platforms in a client‑centric environment. The role focuses on strategy, architectural excellence, and the delivery of data solutions that drive business impact.
Base Pay Range $170,000.00/yr – $195,000.00/yr
Who We’re Looking For As a chief designer of a data‑driven culture, you will act as the technical authority for clients (executives, data scientists, engineers) and the internal practice. You thrive on solving high‑stakes, ambiguous business problems and delivering clear, scalable data solutions. The primary focus is strategy, design, governance, and client engagement.
What You’ll Do
Lead Technical Strategy & Design
– Architect, design, and oversee enterprise‑scale data platforms, data models, and data governance frameworks on AWS.
Client‑Facing Expert
– Lead technical discovery sessions, translate complex business requirements into architectural roadmaps, and present high‑level solutions to executive stakeholders.
Set the Standard
– Define and enforce best practices for data engineering, data modeling, data quality, and security across the entire practice.
Mentor & Multiply
– Act as the senior‑most technical mentor for Data Engineers and elevate team capabilities through design reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance.
Own the Ecosystem
– Drive strategic selection and integration of data tools, leveraging Databricks and Snowflake to create powerful, efficient, and scalable data ecosystems.
Solve the Unsolvable
– Serve as the final escalation point for the most complex technical challenges, prototype solutions, and de‑risk new technologies.
What You Bring (Requirements)
8–12+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data architecture, or business intelligence.
5+ years in a formal Data Architect role, focusing on designing and implementing large‑scale data solutions.
Expert‑level mastery of data modeling (3NF, Dimensional, Data Vault) and data governance principles.
Deep architectural expertise with either Databricks or Snowflake (experience with both is a plus).
Expert‑level knowledge of the AWS data ecosystem (S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Kinesis).
Proven ability to write Python and SQL for data architecture and pipeline design.
Exceptional client‑facing skills: experience leading technical workshops, presenting to C‑level executives, and translating business needs into technical designs.
Proven ability to lead and mentor senior technical teams and manage complex, multi‑faceted projects.
Strategic “builder” mindset, startup mentality, and genuine thirst for knowledge.
Bonus Points (Nice‑to‑Haves)
Experience with GenAI and MLOps (e.g., Databricks Mosaic AI, Bedrock).
Multiple high‑level certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Databricks/Snowflake certifications).
Experience in a Professional Services or consulting environment.
