What you’ll do…
Lead and coordinate front‑end design and engineering development activities to establish the technical basis for detailed design and project execution.
Develop and define the project’s electrical scope, design criteria, and basis of design documents in alignment with client objectives and applicable standards.
Support the preparation of conceptual layouts, one‑lines, and preliminary equipment sizing for distributed generation and microgrid systems.
Evaluate technical alternatives and feasibility during concept development to optimize performance, cost, and schedule.
Collaborate closely with project managers, system engineers, and discipline leads to ensure technical alignment and proper integration of electrical systems into the overall project design.
Support development of key design decisions such as topology selection, redundancy philosophy, and protection schemes.
Coordinate with third‑party vendors and specialists to obtain and incorporate budgetary quotations and technical data into FEED deliverables.
Ensure that FEED documentation meets applicable codes, standards (NEC, ANSI, IEEE, NFPA), and project quality requirements.
Develop concept‑level power system models (ETAP or equivalent) to support load flow, short‑circuit, and protection coordination studies at the FEED level.
Prepare and review technical memoranda, design basis documents, and design assumptions registers.

Leading and coordinating front‑end design and engineering development activities to establish the technical basis for detailed design and project execution.
Developing and defining the project’s electrical scope, design criteria, and basis of design documents (BODs) in alignment with client objectives and applicable standards.
Supporting the preparation of conceptual layouts, one‑lines, and preliminary equipment sizing for distributed generation and microgrid systems.
Evaluating technical alternatives and feasibility during concept development to optimize performance, cost, and schedule.
Collaborating closely with project managers, system engineers, and discipline leads to ensure technical alignment and proper integration of electrical systems into the overall project design.
Supporting development of key design decisions, such as topology selection, redundancy philosophy, and protection schemes.
Coordinating with third‑party vendors and specialists to obtain and incorporate budgetary quotations and technical data into FEED deliverables.
Ensuring that FEED documentation meets applicable codes, standards (NEC, ANSI, IEEE, NFPA), and project quality requirements.
Developing concept‑level power system models (ETAP or equivalent) to support load flow, short‑circuit, and protection coordination studies at the FEED level.
Preparing and reviewing technical memoranda, design basis documents, and design assumptions registers.
You’ll Sweep Us Off Our Feet If You
Have power, controls, and utility systems experience.
Have strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office products (Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and various PDF editing/mark‑up software.
Have the ability to develop a good understanding of company standards, practices and procedures pertaining to engineering and design.
Can work with minimum supervision, be a self‑starter, and meet goals and deadlines on own initiative.
Can be self‑motivated and maintain deadlines of assigned project deliverables, via reports from project management scheduling software.
Can develop a good understanding of company standards, practices and procedures pertaining to engineering and design.
Have the ability to drive all technical aspects of a project from cradle‑to‑grave with minimal supervision.
Have the ability to draft effectively and efficiently in AutoCAD; highly preferred.
Additional responsibilities may be added at the direction of Company’s management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
15 – 20 years of combined experience in electrical and project engineering.
Good theoretical background of medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) electrical power distribution, MV and LV switchgear, transformers, power generators, grounding systems, cable installation, and power systems studies (ETAP).
Demonstrate a good understanding of NEC, ANSI/NEMA, and IEEE standards.
Ability to multi‑task and handle multiple projects.
Effective written and oral communication.
Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate with other areas to achieve goals and objectives.
Ability to effectively manage time and complete projects on a timely basis.
Physical requirements and working conditions: must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, including occasional site visits and use of standard office equipment; stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 20 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
