Overview
We are seeking a Senior Wastewater/Water Engineer to join our team in Alexandria, VA.
Responsibilities
Lead engineering/process design, project coordination, and develop engineering specifications.
Provide technical oversight of design staff for water and wastewater pipeline and pump station projects.
Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document sessions at project sites in coordination with technical professionals and other disciplines.
Manage the production and coordination of multiple projects concurrently.
Implement QA/QC procedures and conduct training for personnel.
Mentor less experienced local project staff to develop their professional growth.
Perform additional technical and managerial duties as required.
Establish technical criteria for pump station and reservoir projects, providing input and direction to project managers.
Participate in technical quality assurance reviews.
Assist management in conducting project review audits for pump station and reservoir projects.
Establish, disseminate, review, and update firmwide professional standards, guidelines, and procedures.
Coordinate with project leads to identify staffing needs and opportunities for recruitment in the technical specialty area.
Qualifications
B.S. (M.S. preferred) in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
10+ years of progressive technical design experience within consulting.
Interest in leadership opportunities within professional associations.
Experience presenting to clients and professional organizations.
Active affiliation with organizations such as the Water Environment Federation and American Water Works Association.
Excellent speaking, presenting, and writing skills.
Ability to travel locally and nationally as needed.
Special skills:
Strong background in pump station and reservoir design.
Proven interpersonal skills, public speaking, and persuasive ability.
Recognition as an industry leader with publication record and conference presentation experience is a plus.

Additional Information Expected compensation range: $130,000 – $190,000 annually or $62.00 – $91.00 hourly, depending on skills, experience, and location.
