Our client, a leader in the Financial Services industry is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the team. The Senior Project Manager will join the firm’s Shared Services organization, supporting Operational Risk Management initiatives across multiple business lines. This individual will lead and execute cross‑functional projects that strengthen risk controls, enhance operational efficiency, and improve the firm’s overall risk posture. The ideal candidate brings strong project management capabilities, experience working with both business and technology teams, and the ability to manage stakeholders and third‑party vendors in a complex financial services environment. Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of operational risk and shared‑services projects, from scoping through implementation and post‑launch review. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and communication strategies. Monitor project progress, escalate risks or blockers, and ensure all initiatives meet deadlines, budget, and quality expectations. Prepare executive‑level reporting, dashboards, and status updates. Stakeholder Management
Act as primary liaison between business stakeholders, risk teams, and technology groups to ensure alignment of goals, requirements, and deliverables. Facilitate meetings, gather requirements, and translate business needs into actionable project tasks. Build strong partnerships with internal risk, compliance, operations, IT, and senior leadership teams. Vendor & Third‑Party Coordination
Evaluate potential vendors, assist with RFP processes, and support vendor selection in partnership with Procurement and Risk. Coordinate vendor activities throughout the project lifecycle—requirements, onboarding, testing, delivery, and performance monitoring. Ensure adherence to third‑party risk controls and compliance frameworks. Operational Risk & Process Improvement
Support projects focused on risk mitigation, process redesign, and enhancement of control frameworks across the enterprise. Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to identify gaps, assess risks, and implement solutions that meet regulatory and risk management standards. Document processes, workflows, risks, and controls as needed. Qualifications
5+ years of project management experience , ideally within financial services, operational risk, or related shared‑services environments. Strong understanding of risk management concepts, operational controls, and regulatory expectations. Experience working closely with technology teams and translating business requirements into technical deliverables. Background leading cross‑functional projects involving data, systems, vendors, and/or risk processes. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency with project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Asana, MS Project, Smartsheet). PMP, Agile, or other project management certification is a plus. Seniority level
