Overview As the Assistant Director of Engineering, you will oversee all hotel operations, including both interior and exterior facilities. You will ensure the hotel’s HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and life‑safety systems run efficiently and proactively identify engineering needs.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with departmental leaders to address engineering issues quickly and implement proactive systems.
Manage preventive maintenance schedules to uphold the appearance and quality of the hotel’s interior and exterior.
Evaluate staff productivity, identify opportunities to improve colleague efficiency and guest experience.
Oversee facility life‑safety systems, schedule regular inspections, and train team members.
Procure supplies and materials for construction projects.
Coach and counsel employees to meet Hyatt’s service standards and procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of facility/building management experience, preferably in a multi‑guestroom environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, effective with colleagues, guests and partners.
Proven leadership experience with strategic implementation to achieve business goals.
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Strong customer‑service orientation, high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, and motivational leadership.
Experience managing utility systems and equipment specification/purchasing preferred.
