Job Summary Cullerton Group is seeking a highly experienced
Senior QA Automation Engineer
to lead automated testing efforts across UI, API, and integration layers for a large-scale digital application. This engineer will review, design, and execute test strategies; develop automated test suites; and collaborate closely with developers, QA leads, and product teams to ensure high-quality software delivery. The role also includes participating in design reviews, refining technical and business requirements, and mentoring peers in coding, testing, and best practices. Key Responsibilities
Review, develop, and approve test plans, scenarios, scripts, and testing procedures
Oversee testing programs addressing database impacts, service/API behavior, UI behavior, and software usability
Diagnose, document, and assign resolution paths for software defects
Approve test schedules and testing strategies aligned with project scope and delivery timelines
Conduct detailed review of requirements, software documentation, and architecture to mitigate risks
Participate in product design reviews and provide input on functionality, design, schedules, and potential issues
Write, maintain, and optimize automated UI and API test suites (Playwright, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript)
Collaborate with developers, QA leads, and business owners to refine requirements and deliver high-quality releases
Review pull-request code, perform cleanup/refactoring, and support continuous deployment workflows
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science, Computer Engineering , or related field (required)
10+ years
of professional QA/test engineering experience
3+ years
of strong experience in
API/UI automation ,
Playwright , and
C# or similar languages
Strong skills in
HTML, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript , and REST API validation
Knowledge of electronic hardware, computer systems, and engineering fundamentals
Strong understanding of engineering design techniques, models, and technical documentation
Expert-level communication, time management, and mentoring skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with: Angular, ASP.NET, SQL, Azure Cloud, C#, Visual Testing
Experience with: CosmosDB or other NoSQL databases
Experience with: Git, CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps YAML, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
Experience with: Powershell, Figma, JSON schemas, Windows platforms
Experience writing unit tests, mobile automation, and test data management
Strong UI/UX intuition and the ability to think through edge cases and failure states
Experience working on long-term Agile, continuous-deployment projects
