VP of Finance As an outcomes-focused company, excellent Finance leadership is critical to our business and culture, leading the charge on financial strategy and performance. Our VP of Finance will not only keep the lights on; they’ll contribute significantly to the operations that ensure our overarching business strategy leads to substantial results for our company and customers. They will work closely with every member of senior leadership to ensure our financial backbone supports all functions, while the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) drives the business forward.

We’re a team of 60 remote across the US and Canada, prioritizing access to talent and diversity over location. This role is the top-level Finance leader, with the autonomy and empowerment to develop a well-operating function under their vision. The current finance team consists of an Accounting Manager reporting to this role, and this role succeeds an exiting Finance executive.

Responsibilities

Budget Management Own the company’s detailed spending plan: develop guidelines, design and run the annual planning process (including department budgets, headcount and hiring plans), align the budget with company goals, and collaborate to develop department budgets.

Financial Forecast Lead strategy for the company’s long-term financial performance: design and develop the financial forecast, run quarterly and monthly reforecasts, anticipate and adjust forecasts based on market and business conditions, and keep executives informed and aligned.

Reporting and Board Readiness Create and own the source of truth for revenue and financial performance, deliver monthly reporting packages to CEO and ELT, ensure timely data delivery, and provide the Board with required financial insight.

Accounting Maintain excellent accounting practices, oversee payroll, manage taxes and compliance, own billing and tax reporting, and manage the audit process.

Strategic Finance Leadership Represent the company in finance-related discussions and negotiations, keep the ELT aware of financial risks and opportunities, and manage the cap table and equity practices.

Financial Growth Partner in growth and investment activities, support investor and Board relations, and play a key role in fundraising activity.

Executive Partnership Support all functions cross‑functionally, align departmental goals with financial strategy, enforce financial processes, and empower executives with budgeting insight.

Team Leadership Manage members of the Finance org with empathy, reinforce core principles, set a high behavioral standard, and serve as a growth partner.

Compensation We’re committed to paying fairly and competitively. Compensation for this role ranges from $220,000 - $250,000 per year, determined based on experience and expected responsibilities for a VP of Finance.
