invites you to apply for the
FOIA Analyst I
position. This hybrid role requires commuting to the USDT office in Washington, DC twice per week. The anticipated annual salary is up to $70,000, dependent upon experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Independently manage and process complex FOIA requests, conduct thorough record searches across various agency systems, evaluate exemptions, and determine appropriate redactions to ensure compliance with FOIA laws and agency policies.
Apply legal expertise to interpret FOIA exemptions, including those related to national security, personal privacy, and commercial information, and make informed decisions on disclosure and redaction.
Effectively communicate with requesters, agency staff, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to address FOIA inquiries, negotiate the scope of the request, and resolve complex issues.
Support required duties to respond to requests for records pursuant to FOIA.
Review, organize, and analyze documents for production in response to FOIA requests, including identifying responsive records, confidential business information, intra‑agency, pre‑decisional and deliberative information or attorney work product, and personal identifying information.
Promote transparency within the government agency by disclosing non‑exempt information directly to requestors and making proactive disclosures of non‑exempt information available via the government online electronic reading room.
Appropriately apply Exemptions 1‑7 when responding to FOIA requests.
Utilize FOIAXpress to manage and process FOIA requests.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge
Strong research and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels.
Ability to handle multiple tasks within specified deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience working in the FOIA field, providing cradle‑to‑grave support to or working directly for a Government Agency.
Working understanding of Exemptions 1‑7.
Prior experience utilizing FOIAXpress to manage and process FOIA requests.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
