Working under the direction of the COO, the Vice President of Crisis Services will support our partner facility by promoting and enhancing its mission of delivering quality care to clients, their families, and the communities served. This role is responsible for the effective operations of integrated behavioral health services and the multi-disciplinary teams providing a full continuum of care.This includes leadership of several of our CBHC programs, including Emergency Mobile Respite and School-Based Services.The Vice President of Crisis Services will also work within our local med-serge hospital in a shared leadership position, overseeing the behavioral health services, including the emergency service team and substance use treatment service line.This shared leadership position will support the operational and strategic vision of the behavioral health programs, including developing and supporting a continuum of services from the hospital/short-term to longer-term community services.Responsible for the effective development and implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the Organization and Program.

Job Functions

Works as part of a partnered local med-serge hospital leadership team to develop strategic plans for the behavioral health service line within the system and to develop a continuum of services with our organization.

Oversee the operations of the behavioral health programs located at the med-serge hospital, including the emergency service team and the substance use service line.

Works as part of our organization's Senior Leadership Team to develop strategic goals and support operational excellence.

Direct operational oversight of multiple clinical CBHC programs.

Works with strategic community partners, including schools, police departments, ambulance services, and psychiatric hospitals.

Help shape and articulate the division’s long-range strategic direction and short-term priorities, including quality initiatives.

Identify the best strategies and tactics to accomplish the division’s priorities and advance the field and mission.

Ensure that the division programming is focused on evidence-based practice, impact, and results.

Maintains communication with MBHP to ensure all parts of the contract are being followed

Provides clinical and administrative oversight to all programs

Assess educational need for programs and staff; works with the organization and partnering organizations on training resources to develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of training

Serves as a lead clinical and systems problem solver within contracted BH integration/services.

Develops, implements, and monitors quality initiatives and metrics for all integrated programs.

Provides direct supervision for all behavioral health program directors in the system

Defines areas of quality and risk for the program-

Provides fiscal management and oversight of the program

Creates, motivates, and maintains a diverse, high-performance team by working with other senior leaders to recruit, retain, educate, and develop the staff.

Works with the licensing entities and payers to ensure that standards are met and exceeded

Stay abreast of emerging trends across the division’s policy areas, including regularly reviewing the BH literature and new advances in service delivery, recommending changes to existing practices, and developing proposals for new programs and services.

Initiate, develop, and implement new and/or expanded programs using evidence-based practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct supervision of program directors

Indirect supervision of all staff who work in programs that are overseen by this position

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other mental health discipline

Independent Licensure required (MA)

5-7 years of previous clinical and administrative experience overseeing behavioral health programs in progressive management roles

Demonstrated success with program development of behavioral health programs, both internally and externally

Experience with managing and providing clinical services across the lifespan

Must show strong leadership skills and have the ability to balance administrative needs with staff concerns.

Must demonstrate ability to work effectively and respectfully with staff, interns, individuals, and referring agencies.

Must demonstrate an ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as a member of the outpatient management team.

Strong writing skills and attention to detail required.

Strong presentation and training skills.

Demonstrated clinical experience across the lifespan

Demonstrated extensive knowledge and referral to other community behavioral health resources for clients and families

Salary Range $140,000 – $180,000 annually, based on experience.
