Be a part of an exciting and rewarding summer as a
Junior Camp Counselor
with the Y! In this seasonal role, you will supervise and support a group of children in a day camp setting, fostering a safe, positive, and inclusive atmosphere. You’ll work closely with Senior Counselors and camp leadership to create a fun and engaging experience while ensuring the well‑being and development of every camper. By promoting the Y’s mission and values, you’ll contribute to a cause‑driven culture focused on community, growth, and belonging. Must be at least 16 years old with a strong desire to work with children in an outdoor setting. Prior experience working with children is preferred. Demonstrated ability to assist in teaching and facilitating camp activities. Effective communication skills to support, counsel, and motivate campers. Adaptability, integrity, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Must complete mandatory new employee trainings and department onboarding. CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are preferred. Physical ability to fully participate in camp activities, including lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
