Base pay range $170,000.00/yr - $350,000.00/yr

Job Description We are actively looking for exceptionally talented individuals who are collaborative, confident and motivated to provide a first-class experience to clients within J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank. The J.P. Morgan Private Advisory team is a cross-disciplinary group of over 100 global specialists who collaborate to deliver innovative and forward-thinking strategies, working closely with Private Bank Advisors to help clients make well-informed decisions and achieve their goals. Private Business Advisory (PBA), one of the nine pillars of J.P. Morgan Private Advisory, provides strategic, practical advice to business owners and their families regarding private business sales and transactions, corporate governance, pre-transaction planning, and maintaining a legacy business over multiple generations. As a Private Business Advisor, you will be responsible for generating new business as well as providing advice on issues affecting private business owners.

Job Responsibilities

Provide thought leadership and expertise to business owner clients and internal partners

Discuss transition options and the current market environment in group and one-on-one settings

Evaluate and offer guidance on deal terms and structure; assist in identifying value and/or synergistic opportunities to help business owners obtain the greatest return from their business

Evaluate and review management succession plans and objectives

Partner with our Wealth Advisors/Wealth Strategists to advise on pre- and post-transaction planning strategies and integrate within family wealth transfer plans

Review and propose corporate governance structures

Review corporate documents including operating and buy-sell agreements and suggest additional best practices

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, Skills

Bachelor’s degree

Five plus years of relevant work experience in Mergers and Acquisitions or related fields including Legal, Investment Banking, Private Capital, Family Office, Valuation or Asset Management

Ability to travel within assigned markets

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, Skills

Advanced Degree or licensing preferred, ideally CFA, JD, CPA or MBA (or in-process)

Solid analytical and quantitative skills (with knowledge of the mathematical principles underlying the financial valuation models used to develop recommendations for clients)

Demonstrates a sense of urgency and comfortable multi-tasking

Proactive, accountable and detail oriented work ethic with excellent organizational skills
